How to book Japan Hotel in Rakuten Travel Japanese website for Dummies – STEP 4 – Find out Stay Plan

    The hotels in Japan usually rent the room in the form of stay plan (宿泊プラン). Stay plan is the accommodation package categorized by different conditions such as with or without breakfast and dinner, advance booking, special festival offers, and so on. Each stay plan will be further broken down by room type.

     

    The room type is usually similar in different stay plan. The difference mainly lies in a combination of other factors, such as with or without breakfast and dinner, whether there are special offers, or whether it contains other supplied items, etc., and these factors result different price among different stay plan. So, before booking you should choose the stay plan according to you needs.

     

    1. In the hotel page of Rakuten Travel website, press the 「宿泊プラン一覽」 button to enter the stay plan list page.

    2. Firstly, press the 「現在の表示条件」 button in the right hand side. Then set the searching conditions, such as check-in(チェックイン) and check-out(チェックアウト) dates, number of rooms(ご利用部屋数), guests number for each room(1部屋あたりのご利用人数), etc., and then press the 「検索」 button to search for qualified hotels.

    Tips】:If you want to narrow the search result, you can add some conditions, such as room type (シングル - Single room,セミダブル - Semi-double room,ダブル - Double room,ツイン - Twin room,トリプル - Triple room,禁煙ルーム - non-smoking room), include breakfast(朝食あり) or dinner(夕食あり).

    Tips】:If the guests include child, you must set the number of child in the section of “guests number for each room”(1部屋あたりのご利用人数) in accordance to their age.

    小学校高学年 – primary school higher class student, age 9 to 11

    小学校低学年 – primary school lower class student, age 6 to 8

    幼児(食事・布団付) – under 6 years old, need food and bed

    幼児(食事のみ) – under 6 years old, need food but don’t need bed

    幼児(布団のみ) – under 6 years old, need bed but don’t need food

    幼児(食事・布団不要) – under 6 years old, don’t need food and bed

    Child over 12 years old will be treated as adult.

     

    3. After finish search, the system will list out the stay plan that meet the search conditions. You can check the details of the stay plan. If you don’t know the meaning of Japanese, you can the excite translation website to translate it into English.

    4. You can sort the stay plan in accordance with different criteria, such as by recommendation (施設のおすすめ順), by room rates from low to high (料金が安い順), by room rates from high to low (料金が高い順), by Rakuten Supper Points (ポイントが貯まる順), by room size (部屋が広い順). You can sort by different criteria to compare and find a suitable hotel.

    5. After choose the stay plan, you should decide the room type and decide to stay in a smoking room (喫煙) or non-smoking room (禁煙). Room type include:

    シングル – Single room

    セミダブル – Semi-double room

    ダブル – Double room

    ツイン – Twin room

    トリプル – Triple room

     

    6. After finish the above selection, you can press the 「予約へ」 red button to book the room.

    Hi, Thanks so much for your blog.
    I booked a Hokkaido hotel by following the steps your indicated. I noticed that the hotel indicated the following in my booking.
    日本の法律により外国籍の方はパスポートまたは永住許可証の提示を求めています。(宿泊者・予約者ともに含む)
    1氏名、2パスポート番号、3永住許可証番号、4電話番号(連絡のつく番号)、5ご住所をメールにて当館まで直接送信してください。
    48時間以内にご連絡なき場合、自動的にキャンセルとなってしまいますのでご注意ください。

    Can you pls advise what I should do ?
