【STEP - 1】Search Hotel

Rakuten Travel English website provides several methods to search hotel, I will introduce the most simple and popular one in this article.
1. In the search window on the left upper corner of Rakuten Travel English website homepage, set the conditions such as check-in and check-out dates, number of rooms, number of guests in each room (note: if you travel with child, press “with Childern” to set the number of child), Country (in addition to Japan hotels, you can also book the hotels of East Asia and South East Asia in Rakuten Travel), City and Locations, and then press the「SEARCH」 button to search for qualified hotels.
2. After the search, the hotels and the stay plan meet the conditions will be displayed as follow.
【Tips】：The hotels in Japan usually rent the room in the form of stay plan. Stay plan is the accommodation package categorized by different conditions such as with or without breakfast and dinner, advance booking, special festival offers, and so on. Each stay plan will be further broken down by room type. The room type is usually similar in different stay plan. The difference mainly lies in a combination of other factors, such as with or without breakfast and dinner, whether there are special offers, or whether it contains other supplied items, etc., and these factors result different price among different stay plan. So, before booking you should choose the stay plan according to you needs.
3. In addition to display the search result by Hotel List, it can also be displayed by Room Type, and sorted by price.
【Tips】：If you want to narrow the search result, you can add some conditions, such as: Include Breakfast, Include Dinner, Non-smoking Room, Free Internet, then press the 「Refine Search」 button to re-search the hotels.
4. You can click the hotel name to check the hotel details, or click the name of stay plan to check the details of the stay plan. If you press the 「Calendar」 button, you can check the room availability in the form of calendar. If there are many stay plan available, you can click the “Show All Available Room Types” link to see all stay plans.
【Tips】：In the right hand side of the word “Payment”, you can find the payment method that the hotel can accept. The blue icon “Pay at hotel” means the room charges will be paid to hotel at the time of check-in. The orange icon “Prepayment” means the room charges should be paid by credit card online at the time of the reservation is confirmed. If both icons are shown, you can choice one payment method in the process of reservation.
5. If you find a stay plan meet your requirement, you can press the 「Book Now」 red button to make reservation.
