【STEP - 1】Register the Rakuten Membership
It is not necessary to register as the Rakuten member in order to book hotel in Rakuten Travel website. Non-members also can make room reservation in its website. However, if you book the hotel in Rakuten Travel website with membership account, you can get at least the following two benefits:
First, you can get the Rakuten Supper Points reward after you complete the stay. Rakuten Supper Points is 1% on the room rates and it can be used in your next booking.
Second, Rakuten Travel always provide some member exclusive stay plan and release the discount coupons called “Rakupon”. These kind of benefits only available to Rakuten members .
So, it is better to register as a member before booking.

The membership registration has both Japanese and English interface. So you can use the English interface to register. As the registration interface is in English. I will introduce the registration process briefly in the following paragraph.
1. Press the 「無料会員登録」 link in the right hand side of the Rakuten Travel Japanese website homepage. (Press here directly go to the Membership Registration Page)
2. Press the 「会員登錄（無料）」button in the middle of the Membership Registration Page.
3. Fill in the required information, include:
- E-mail address
- User ID
- Password
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Registration Type {choose “Home”}
- Postal Code {fill in “000-0000” for address outside Japan}
- Prefecture {choose “other” for address outside Japan}
- City, Ward
- Street Address
- Telephone Number
【Tips】：The fields indicated as red word “Required” are compulsory, other fields are optional. You can press “Detailed help” in each field to get more instruction.
4. Press the 「Agree to the Following Terms & Conditions and Confirm the Information Entered」 button after you complete all information entry.
5. Confirm the information. If you need to modify, press the 「<< Return to previous page and make changes」 button to go back to previous page. If you confirm the information is correct, press the 「Register Rakuten Membership」 button to confirm registration.
6. Finish registration.
When the registration is completed, Rakuten Travel will send a notification email to your E-mail address immediately.
